Stealers Wheel Founder Joe Egan’s Wife Sylvia Egan Is the Director of Baby Bun Music!

Stuck in the Middle with You co-writer Joe Egan passed away on July 6, 2024, at the age of 77. Meanwhile, his wife, family, and the entire music industry are mourning his loss.

Veteran musician Joe Egan founded the rock band Stealer Wheel with his former school friend Gerry Rafferty in 1972.

Their song “Stuck in the Middle With You” became a massive hit after two unsuccessful singles, with a sales record of over a million copies.

Before founding the band, Joe reportedly played in several small British bands.

In addition to his group prominence, Joe also solidified his name as a soloist. He released a solo debut album, Out of Nowhere, in 1979.

After leaving the music business in the 1990s, Joe and his wife, Sylvia Egan, operated a music publishing company, Baby Bun Music, in Renfrewshire.

Baby Bun Music Ltd is a UK-based music publishing company whose director is Sylvia.

The Rock musician was a family guy who loved spending time with his loved ones.

Joe and Sylvia Egan shared a daughter named Claire Egan. She was a University of the West of Scotland Biomedical Science graduate.

Unfortunately, she passed away before her father, Joe. Reportedly, Claire was a double lung transplant recipient.

Egan’s daughter Claire was an outstanding student, earning several university awards and prizes.

Her resilience, hard work, and achievements were more remarkable, irrespective of the major challenges she faced with her debilitating medical condition.

The University of the West of Scotland inaugurated an award in Claire’s name in 2017, and Kirsty McCallum was the first to win the award.

Sylvia and Joe Egan were delighted to have an award created in Claire’s memory.
