Rachael Gunn’s Husband, Samuel Free, Got Her Into Breakdancing!
Coached by her husband and fellow break dancer, Samuel Free, Australian break dancer Rachael Gunn stirred up the internet with her unique performance style in her Olympic debut at the Paris Olympics.
Rachael’s coach and husband since 2018, Samuel Free, himself is a title-winning break-dancer.
When Samuel first introduced her to the sport, the Olympian admitted that she was not immediately drawn to it.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Samuel took Rachael to Hornsby PYC, where he was practicing with his colleagues.
Eventually, Rachael’s interest in the sport sparked, leading her to enter the breakdancing scene in 2012 by competing in her first event.
Moreover, the couple share a deep connection of love and partnership that extends beyond the dance floor.
Rachael Married Samuel, Her Coach and Dance Partner, After Over Six Years of Dating
The power couple, Rachael and Samuel Free, married on January 6, 2018, after over six years of courtship.
On a Facebook post, Rachael shared a wedding picture on their first anniversary together as a married couple, writing:
“A year ago today me and this guy got hitched. Best day ever. Thanks to those that helped make it so special.“
Together, the couple have danced as part of the same hip-hop dance crew, 143 Liverpool Street Familia.
They have achieved numerous victories in dance competitions with their crew and have participated in several street dance festivals.
Unfortunately, an ACL injury disrupted Samuel’s competitive ambitions, preventing him from achieving his Olympic dream.
However, Racheal qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics, carrying his dream of competing on the Olympic stage.
The couple’s strong partnership is evident through videos on social media showing Samuel cheering on his wife during the Olympics.
Although the Olympian’s dance performance has become a subject of mockery in the past few days, Samuel is surely proud of her wife’s performance on such a grand stage.
