Louis Cole’s Illness Led To KNOWER Canceling Their Pori Jazz 2024 Performance In Europe
Louis Cole, co-founder and drummer of the jazz-funk duo KNOWER, fell ill shortly before their tour, leading to the cancellation of their scheduled shows in the UK and Europe.
Louis Maxwell Cole is an American musician, singer-songwriter, video producer, and music video director who was born into a musical family in Los Angeles.
His father was a jazz pianist, and his mother played bass, so he grew up immersed in jazz, starting to play drums at the age of eight.
Similarly, he graduated with a degree in jazz studies in 2009 and rose to fame after co-founding KNOWER with fellow jazz graduate Genevieve Artadi.
The duo gained recognition in the music scene with hits like “Overtime,” “The Government Knows,” “Hanging On,” “Time Traveler,” and others.
Despite His July Illness Announcement, Cole Released His Favorite Album, “Nothing”
KNOWER began international tours across multiple continents and gained festival features after fans widely acclaimed their talent.
As a result, they were scheduled to perform at the renowned Pori Jazz Festival in Europe in July, but the event was later canceled.
Fans eagerly anticipated KNOWER’s performance at Pori Jazz, but the organizers canceled it when Louis Cole fell ill.
Louis announced his illness and the cancellation of KNOWER’s show, originally scheduled for July 19, on the band’s Instagram.
Additionally, KNOWER announced the cancellation of all their EU and UK dates, rescheduling them to 2025.
However, Artadi will step in and likely perform solo for the shows in Cologne on August 31 and Paris on September 1.
Fans have flooded the comments with love and speedy recovery wishes for Louis, despite no specific details about his health issue being available.
One of the fans encouraged him with positivity by saying,

Despite the setback, Cole appears to be recovering, as he released a new album titled “Nothing” on August 9, 2024.
