Columbian singer Karol G has a barbed-wire heart tattoo on her left upper arm, symbolizing the challenging years in her personal life where she weakened and strengthened herself.

Carolina Giraldo Navarro, born on February 14, 1991, is a reggaeton singer and songwriter from Medellin, Colombia.

Karol G began her career on Colombia’s X Factor spinoff and now enjoys popularity as a Latin singer known for hits like “Ahora Me Llama,” “Mi Cama,” and “Culpables.”

Likewise, she has earned multiple awards, including a Latin Grammy, Billboard honors, and five Guinness World Records.

One of her most cherished artworks features a barbed-wire heart-shaped tattoo on the upper part of her left arm.

In an interview with Allure, Karol explained that the thorn-encircled heart symbolizes the difficult times she faced in 2020 and 2021.

Additionally, she also revealed that the tattoo served as a prelude to her 2023 album, Mañana Será Bonito, which translates to “Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful.”

“People don’t know that this tattoo is the opener of my [next] album,  “I mean, literally, a lot of things start from here. The tattoo represents a moment in my life where I questioned myself a lot. I strengthened and weakened myself a lot, t was a very important moment for me personally, not for my career. For Carolina.”

During that time, she went through challenges following the end of her relationship and engagement with Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA.

She expressed her deep affection for him in her song “Secreto,” which featured the lyrics, “Celibacy is impossible…You are mine, I do not share.”

They announced their engagement on April 25, 2019, and later revealed their separation on April 20, 2021.

Additionally, Karol suffered due to extensive discussions about her body and the plastic surgery procedures she had undergone.
