Hailing from Athens, Tennessee, Jerry Thompson was born to his parents, Clarence Fay and Alice Delores Plemons Thompson.
Jerry was widely known for his writing credits on “Bring My Children Home,” “I’ve Won,” “I’d Do It All Over Again,” “Jordan,” and more.
He penned several songs, but most of them primarily focused on the second coming of Christ and Heaven.
Some of his writing credits include How Many More Miracles, We’ve Got to Get America Back to God, I Feel Like Praising the Lord, What a Change, Behold, I Come Quickly, and more.
In addition to The Nelons, Jerry Thompson was an employee of Skiers Choice of Maryville. The gospel singer was also a member of Vonore Baptist Church.

Kelly Nelon and Jerry Thompson Shared Two Daughters: Amber and Autumn!
The gospel singers Kelly and Jerry walked down the aisle in 1979. However, their seemingly blissful marital life went downhill after almost two decades.
The former couple divorced in 1998; however, the reason behind their failed relationship remains concealed.
Jerry and Kelly together shared two daughters, Autumn and Amber, the latter who passed away in the recent Wyoming incident.
Born and brought up in a musical household, it wasn’t uncommon for their daughters to follow in their footsteps as they eventually became members of The Nelons.
Amber started singing soprano in 2002, followed by Autumn, who started singing alto and 2nd soprano in 2014.
Following their divorce, Kelly married Jason Clark in 2001, who went on to become the gospel group’s lead singer.
