The lyrical titan Chino XL, who redefined hip-hop with his sharp and fearless punchlines, left us far too soon. With his loss, the family now faces grappling with the void he left behind.
Derek Barbosa, aka Chino Xl, was one of the greatest rappers ever touching the music industry’s mic.
Chino was one of the respected lyricists from New Jersey whose punchlines shall never be forgotten and recreated.
Unfortunately, the musician, who was 50, left the world on July 28 at his home with his family.
His daughter from an ex-partner, Stephanie, talked about how the passing of her dear father has left them devastated.
The family has lost their pillar, but they feel that their dad is now at peace with the heavenly father.

1974-born rapper Chino XL’s details on his wife, other than his ex-partner Stephanie, remain concealed.
In fact, it is yet to be ascertained whether he was a married man, for Chino XL kept his personal life away from media scrutiny.
Stephanie, on the other hand, is grieving his loss. She took to her Twitter to share a text sent by the rapper with a caption that reads,
Miss you so much it hurts..
Chino XL had four children, Chynna, Bella, Lyric, and Kiyana, and a stepson Shawn.
Besides children, Chino XL also had five grandchildren: Emmy, Emery, Chris, Luis, and Dyani, but unfortunately, he didn’t live long enough to see them grow.
The official Instagram handle of the rapper posted a message with the statement of his kids, notifying their dad’s demise. In the joint statement, his daughters said:
Our father had many titles — King of Punchlines, Puerto Rican Superhero — but the most important one was Girl Dad. And what he gave us most in that role was his strength, straightforwardness, and ability to be super realistic.
Meanwhile, we’d like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the rapper’s children, grandchildren, former partner, Stephanie, and extended family.
