Amber Nelon Stood Firm in Her Belief During American Idol Audition
According to a Facebook post by D.R. Harrison, she auditioned for American Idol, reportedly during Jennifer Lopez’s tenure as one of the judges.
Her performance impressed the entire panel, especially Lopez, who suggested Amber consider a more revealing image to boost her chances of becoming a superstar.
According to the post, Lopez asked Amber,
Listen, I know you mentioned singing Gospel music, but I have to ask – would you consider being more revealing?
That said, Amber, firmly grounded in her Christian faith, declined the suggestion, stating she wouldn’t compromise her values as a child of God,
On The Floor, singer Lopez continued to offer fame and wealth; however, Amber remained true to her values despite multiple attempts to lure her.
Lopez persisted in pressing, stating, “Do you understand what I’m asking? If you show more, I can make you a superstar.”
To which she replied by giving a bold statement that speaks volumes about her trust and belief in god, saying
I am already known by the One who matters most. I’m already famous in His eyes, and that’s all that matters.
