50 Cent, The Rapper Who Never Met His Dad
Curtis James Jackson, known by his stage name 50 Cent, mentioned that his dad was not actively present during his childhood and expressed that he had no interest in meeting him.
James was born on July 6, 1975, in Queens, New York City, U.S., and was raised in South Jamaica by his Mother, Sabrina.
However, when Jackson was just 8 years old, his mother tragically passed away in an unexpected fire.
Since then, he has been raised by his grandparents, as his father left him long ago for unknown reasons.
Sadly, his grandfather, Curtis Jackson Sr., passed away on July 31, 2024. He shared this news on his Instagram, expressing his deep gratitude for his grandfather.
50 Cent, Abandoned by His Father After His Mother’s Tragic Demise
50 Cent recently posted a reel on Instagram showcasing his new watch with a wallpaper of his Grandfather.
According to him, he respects his grandfather more than his dad for personal reasons.
He doesn’t like to talk much about his dad, who, according to his interview with Larry King, he has never met.
As a kid, Jackson had a difficult time with his mother, who had to sell illegal substances to meet their basic needs.
During those days of struggle, his father departed from them and was never in contact with them.
If you listen to 50 Cent’s song “Hate It or Love It,” he describes his entire childhood story in it.
The song opens with a lyric about seeing his mom kiss a girl. He later confirmed in an interview with Perez Hilton that his mom was a lesbian.
Moreover, in the second verse, he describes his dad with the lyrics
Daddy ain’t around, probably out commitin Felonies
What he meant was that his dad wasn’t with him, possibly off doing things he shouldn’t have been.
However, there is no reliable trace of 50 Cent’s dad, as neither his father has come forward nor has 50 Cent sought him out.
He even stated in an interview with Larry King that he wouldn’t accept his father if he came forward.
