We saw these guys carrying their instruments along the wharf at Hopkins Landing, near Gibsons, BC. on Saturday, March 24. We went over to see what they were doing and it turns out they were headed to Gambier Island where composer and guitar player Sean Lizee (far left) has rented a space for them to jam and write songs. Sean is a third generation Sunshine Coast musician. Next to Sean is drummer Tyler McGuire and yes, he is the nephew of Trooper’s Ra McGuire. Kaija Rossiter is the band mom and their best critic. She is also a classically trained musician who contributes electric violin, electric cello and vocals to the band. On the far right is Doug Rossiter, married to Kaija and a multi-instrumentalist. Doug plays guitar and bass for the band as well as serving as their second composer. They don’t have a band name yet, but if you listen hard and hear a big noise coming from Gambier you’ll know who’s making it.
